Here’s a little gem from a fellow developer Lucy Beer. These are some tools she uses from what she calls the wordpress warchest for more serious WordPress endeavors. I mentioned in my last post that you can migrate a site. Maybe I’m not yet at this level, but I will definitely like to learn this as well as more about duplicating sites to run one locally for testing. She recommends something called Desktop Server (free and paid versions) over MAMP/WAMP/XAMP. It allows you to customise your WordPress installation, like a boilerplate including the plugins and configurations you want at start of any new projects. I can see this being so useful instead of always adding the same elements manually over and over again.
So yes most of these tools go over my head for the time being, but as I get more into Database side of things, I see this being a useful resource.
